Alteration of Cholesterol Metabolism in the Rat with Linoleic Acid
ثبت نشده
چکیده
When linoleic acid is added to the diet of the rat there is an average increase in incorporation of radiocarbon into liver cholesterol of 259 per cent. By contrast, the addition of coconut oil to the diet does not increase the incorporation of radiocarbon into liver cholesterol. The addition of linoleic acid to a stock diet is associated with an increased fecal excretion of Libernian-Burehard chromogens, 3-/?-hydroxy sterols and bile acids.

متن کاملO-16: Metabolism of Exogenous Fatty Acids, Fatty Acid-Mediated Cholesterol Efflux, PKA and PKC Pathways in Boar Sperm Acrosome Reaction
Background: For understanding the roles of fatty acids on the induction of acrosome reaction which occurs under association of cholesterol efflux and PKA or PKC pathways in boar spermatozoa, metabolic fate of alone and combined radiolabeled 14C-oleic acid and 3H-linoleic acid incorporated in the sperm was compared, and behavior of cholesterol and effects of PKA and PKC inhibitors upon fatty aci...
متن کاملCorrelation Effects of Nano Selenium and Conjugated Linoleic Acid on the Performance, Lipid Metabolism and Immune System of Male Moghani Lambs
This study was carried out to evaluate the effects of nano selenium (nano-Se) and conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) on performance, biometric and blood parametersand selenoprotein W1 (SEPW1) and lipid gene expression in male Moghani lambs. Thirty male Moghani lambs, 3-months-old and weighing 30 ± 0.25 kg, were used in completely randomized design in a 2 × 3 factorial arrangement with dietary suppl...
متن کاملEffects of Various Dietary
In this study, we investigated the effects of short-chain, middle-chain, and long-ehain fatty acids on the activity of rat liver ct-amino-fi-carboxymuconate-E-semialdehyde decarboxylase [EC 4.1.1.45] (ACMSD), a key enzyme of tryptophan-niacin metabolism. Moreover, we examined the cholesterol metabolism and lipid peroxidation in re)ation to ACMSD actiyity in rats. When diets containing 2%, S%, a...
متن کاملProtective Effects of Linoleic Acid against the Cytotoxicity of Palmitic Fatty Acid in Rat Cardiomyocytes
Background & Aims: Lipotoxicity is the process through which accumulation of lipid intermadiates leads to cellular dysfunction. The worldwide prevalence of cardiovascular diseases has been increased dramatically due to lipotoxicity. According to the peformed studies, saturated and unsaturated fatty acids differ significantly in their contributions to lipotoxicity. It has been r...
